Description
The first edition of this book was widely acclaimed by reviewers, singers, teachers and students as an outstanding basic text on vocal development for voice class, beginning voice majors, and for studio use. The 1986 edition expands the volume from 7 to 12 chapters and incorporates a highly improved format which reflects the refinement of ten years' use in the author's studio and classrooms.
It has often been said that one cannot learn to sing by reading a book. This is true to an extent, but it might also be said that one cannot learn singing from a teacher. If this be true, where does that leave the student? For this, he needs guidance. Both teachers and books can provide some of the guidance a student may need during the course of his development. I hope this text will provide some insights into singing which will prove beneficial to the reader at his present stage of vocal development.
